Overview

This manual outlines the operations, training, and organizational structure for the Naval Air Station (NAS) roleplay in Second Life. The objective is to create a realistic, immersive, and engaging Navy and Marine Corps environment that integrates combat RP, hierarchy progression, and a full Blue Angels Demonstration Team.

Organizational Structure

• Admiral – Commanding Officer of NAS operations
• Supreme XO of XOs – Oversees all Executive Officers
• Fleet Commanders – Manage operational areas (Air Wing, Marines, Logistics)
• Squadron Leaders – Lead air squadrons, coordinate missions and shows
• Enlisted & Junior Officers – Pilots, deck crew, Marines

Training Path

1. Complete Navy Boot Camp (Second Life Navy-certified)
2. Earn official Navy rank (through 2nd Fleet, 7th Fleet, or NAS)
3. Obtain Naval Aviator Certificate
4. Specialization Training (e.g., carrier ops, combat, demo flying)
5. Ongoing skill evaluations

Blue Angels Program Requirements

1. Complete Boot Camp
2. Hold an active Navy rank
3. Have a Naval Aviator Certificate
4. Be invited to the Blue Angels Intern Program
5. Train for approx. 1 year before full team acceptance
6. Earn official callsign and formation position
7. Perform in airshows

Phased Rollout Plan

Phase 1 – Planning & Setup

• Define RP rules, uniforms, and equipment
• Prepare NAS base build and facilities
• Recruit initial command staff

Phase 2 – Recruitment & Training

• Open applications for Navy & Marine roles
• Launch Boot Camp and pilot training programs
• Start basic missions and patrols

Phase 3 – Public Launch

• Introduce Blue Angels trainee flights
